We accept the following forms of identification, provided they are valid and not expired. We cannot accept an ID that is damaged to the point that the photo and personal information are not visible. We cannot accept IDs that are not government issued- for example, student ID, library card, Costco card, credit card, international driver etc.
Any of the above forms of identification showing an asterisk (*) will allow you to enter the dispensary and make a purchase, but as these forms do not prove Illinois residency, you will only be permitted to purchase within the out-of-state allotment. If you wish to purchase within the in-state allotment using one of the asterisked forms of identification, you may present a valid proof of residency dated within 30 days- utility bill, bank statement, credit card bill, etc. Until you have a form of ID proving Illinois residency, you must bring an up-to-date proof of residency to every visit.
All customers must be 21 years of age or older. If you are under the age of 21, you are not legally permitted to enter the dispensary for any reason, including waiting for someone else.
No. Per the state of Illinois, we cannot accept a medical cannabis card as identification to enter the dispensary. All customers must be 21 years of age or older, regardless of medical cannabis patient status.
No. We are not a medical dispensary or dual-licensed, we are adult use only. While we can give you a discount with your medical card, it cannot be used for entry and you will be subject to all adult use and local taxes. Regardless of medical cannabis patient status, all customers must abide by adult use purchaser limits.
No. We are not a medical dispensary or dual-licensed, we are adult use only. Per the state of Illinois, adult use cannabis customers can only purchase for themselves, regardless of medical cannabis patient or caregiver status.
No. Per the state of Illinois, all customers must have a valid form of accepted ID to enter the store.
No. Per the state of Illinois, no person under the age of 21 is permitted on premises, including the reception area, the parking lot, and your vehicle. We cannot watch your child for you and they cannot remain in your vehicle unattended- we will be unable to serve you with your child present on premises.
Scanning your ID does not store your information- in fact, we legally cannot store your information without your permission. The ID scanner is used to determine three qualifications: 1, that your ID is valid and government issued; 2, that you are over the age of 21; and 3, that this is your first visit to the dispensary on that particular day, as the state of Illinois only permits one visit per day. The ID scanners’ data is cleared daily and your information is not retained.

Per the state of Illinois, you can only make one purchase per day.
Tax rates vary depending on the city, county, and total amount of THC within each product. In addition to local taxes up to 3.5% and state sales tax of 6.25%, you can expect to pay the following on all cannabis items:
10% tax on all items with less than 35% THC
20% tax on all infused items, like edibles and topicals
25% tax on all items with 35% THC or more
Non cannabis accessories- such as pipes, lighters, t-shirts, etc- are not subject to cannabis taxes; you will only pay local and state sales tax on these items.

Yes! While we do need to scan your ID, the information is not stored and you are not required to have an account with us in order to shop. Just let your budtender know you’d like to shop anonymously and we’ll handle the rest!
That’s okay- that’s what we’re here for! Our team strives to educate and provide excellent customer service, and we would be delighted to help you choose which products are best suited for your needs. You don’t need to know anything about cannabis, but if you can give us some pointers on what you’re looking for, it’ll help us narrow down some options- here are some things to keep in mind when coming to visit:
Yes! You can place an online order through our website and we’ll have it packed and ready to go by the time you arrive. Per the state of Illinois, we cannot hold orders overnight. If you can’t make it in time to pick up your order before we close, the order is canceled and products are returned to inventory. After we are officially closed for the day, you can begin placing orders for the following day. When placing an online order, you cannot purchase anonymously.
We do our best to fill orders the moment we receive them, but depending on the day’s business volume it may take us a little longer. You’ll receive a text or email when your order is ready!
We do have a separate express line just for customers who order online, but it’s a popular option- you may still experience a short wait but your products will be ready by the time you reach the register. Wait times may increase depending on business volume.
There are two options to update an online order:
Our menu live updates every few minutes! Products will be automatically removed as we sell out, and automatically added as soon as the product delivery has been processed in our system.
We get deliveries on a near-daily basis, but for security purposes and the safety of our team the schedule is randomized and cannot be disclosed to the public. As the online menu live updates every few minutes, checking the menu is the best way to find new products as they become available.
Our menu changes based off the products that each cultivator has available. If they don’t have it available for us, we can’t order it! Product availability can vary, especially as on average, cannabis grows for 8-12 weeks before harvesting, followed by processing and packaging. Cultivators often rotate products in and out of their lineup for a variety of reasons. If we’re out of a product you really love, tell us what you loved about it- we’ll do our best to find a suitable alternative.
Per the state of Illinois, we can only keep your information on file if you give us permission to do so, including your transaction history. If you sign up for a loyalty account, we can track your transaction history and help you find what you ordered previously! We also recommend taking photos of the packaging for personal reference.
Per the state of Illinois, curbside pickup can only be offered to medical cannabis patients at medical dispensaries. As we are an adult use dispensary, we cannot offer curbside pickup and all customers must enter the store to make a purchase.
Per the state of Illinois, no dispensary- whether medical or adult use- may offer drive-thru pickup or home delivery. All customers must enter the store to make a purchase. Any person who approaches you stating they offer home delivery is not affiliated with Excelleaf or the state of Illinois and is operating an illegal business.
The state of Illinois does not permit returns, as we cannot accept any product or packaging after it has left the store. We do have a process to provide a replacement in the form of store credit in the event of a quality issue- send an email within 14 days of purchase to replacements@excelleaf.com with your full name, birthday, phone number, a photo of your receipt, a photo of the 16 digit barcode on the packaging, a photo and/or video of the issue, and a brief description of the issue. You will receive a response within 72 hours with approval or denial and further instructions.
Common issues we MAY be able to provide replacements for are listed below, but are not a guarantee that you will receive a replacement credit. Our team may ask you to complete troubleshooting steps prior If you are experiencing an issue with a product and are unsure if it qualifies for replacement, please send an email to replacements@excelleaf.com.
Unfortunately we cannot provide a replacement if you don’t like the product, if you don’t feel anything from the product, or don’t like how the product makes you feel- these are all personal preferences, not issues with the product itself. We always encourage our customers to try their products more than once, as sometimes you might not feel any effects the first time you try it. Whether you like the product or not, do let your budtender know on your next visit so we can utilize the information to provide better recommendations for you!
While we handle issuing replacement credits within the store, we must also seek that credit from the vendor who produced the product. The vendors request this information for their own records, for quality control purposes, and in case a mass recall must be initiated. They will not approve us to issue you a credit unless we provide them with the requested information.
No, we’re just trying to help resolve your issue! Sometimes there’s a trick to getting a product to work correctly, or it might be your accessory that isn’t working- for example, if you put a brand new vape cartridge on your battery and it doesn’t work, it might not be the cartridge that’s faulty, it could be your battery. If you complete the troubleshooting steps and the issue does not resolve, please let us know and we’ll continue with the replacement process.
No. Because Illinois allows anonymous shopping, without ALL of the requested information, there is no way to prove that you bought the product, not another party. Additionally, without all of the requested information, there’s no way to prove that you bought the product from our store and not another company.
Save that email just in case! All replacement credits are good for 14 days, at which point they are expired and we will not provide a credit. Simply tell your budtender at the start of your purchase that you have a credit you’d like to use, and we’ll handle the rest!
It depends on which vendor produced the product. Some allow this, and some don’t- either way, we’ll let you know when we approve or deny your replacement request.
No- we cannot issue a replacement for a replacement. If you feel it merits replacement, at that point we advise you to reach out to the vendor directly.
Yes! We offer the following discounts- please note there are different items you may need to bring in order to receive a discount. Discounts do not stack with sale items- you will receive whichever is the larger discount.

No. Our sale dates and times are firm with no exceptions.
No. We do our best to price competitively, but sometimes it isn’t possible- many dispensaries in this state are corporately owned and have ties to specific cultivators, who will provide their own stores with a lower wholesale price. We completely understand if you have to shop with multiple companies to get the medicine you need- but we hope you’ll continue to visit Excelleaf for our above and beyond customer service!
You can only purchase cannabis once per day at adult use dispensaries.

Additionally, all products must be stored in child-resistant containers.
No. Cannabis is still illegal at the federal level- transporting cannabis across state lines or out of the country is not permitted, even if you are a medical cannabis patient.

The ID scanners’ data is cleared daily and your information is not retained.

Yes- per the state of Illinois, we are required to have cameras recording in every area of the dispensary except for in the bathrooms. There are no blind spots! Additionally, the camera feeds are monitored 24/7 by Illinois State Police and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
No- per the state of Illinois we cannot legally store your information without your permission. After ID scanning upon entry into the building and second ID verification at the register, all customers are welcome to purchase anonymously. We only retain your information if you have signed up for our loyalty program, and all customers are able to opt-out and delete their loyalty account at any time.
Absolutely not! While we are an adult use dispensary and not medical, we still abide by HIPAA laws. Your information is kept private and secure, unless requested by law enforcement with a valid court order.
